Following the recent hurricanes Irma, José and Maria which impacted several of the French territories in the Carribbeans, the French Navy (Marine Nationale) Mistral-class LHD Tonnerre and its EDAR/L-CAT landing catamaran were sent to St Martin island to participate in disaster relief operations and provide humanitarian assistance.
